In this blog post, we’ll delve into the intriguing world of dreams and explore the various aspects that can help unravel the significance of dreaming about ordering food.

Understanding Dreams

Before we dive into the meaning behind your food-focused dreams, let’s take a moment to understand dreams themselves. Dreams have fascinated humanity for centuries, with psychologists, philosophers, and everyday people alike pondering their purpose. Dreaming occurs during the REM (Rapid Eye Movement) stage of sleep and can encompass a range of experiences, from vivid narratives to fleeting images.

So why do we dream? While there isn’t a definitive answer, several theories exist. Some experts suggest that dreams serve as a way for our minds to process and consolidate memories and emotions, while others propose that dreams act as a creative outlet or a means of problem-solving. Dreams may also reflect our desires, fears, and subconscious thoughts that are not always readily apparent in our waking lives.

  1. I’d been out the night before and unexpectedly had the most pleasant evening, then I dreamt this! I’d love to know what it means…..

I was sailing on a yacht across an expanse of calm water with the skipper I was not crewing. It transpired we were part of a race. The yacht rapidly approached the quay head on (made of cement) and I was surprised that the yacht had not slowed down and manoeuvred so the side of the yacht would touch the quay in order for it to be tied up. Instead the yacht hit the quay forcibly (it was the back of the yacht and not the front!) And the jolt made me jump up onto the quay. I’d been told to be careful and that I needed to jump back onto the yacht for the return trip and it would be easy to miss it as it happens so fast, as this had once happened to the skipper.

As part of the race, the yacht turned to the right and had to manoeuvre around several obstacles and returned to where I was waiting on the quay. The back of the yacht forcibly hit the side of the quay and was propelled rapidly away.

The man in front of me jumped onto the back of the yacht and stood there with feet firmly planted, broad shouldered, arms folded, staring straight ahead. He did not turn to see if I was OK, nor did he move to allow me access. I had to make a split second decision – I chose to jump.

I had a holdall in my right hand which I wanted to throw onto the yacht but the man was standing in the way. There were two small black platforms just under the water at the back of the yacht, so keeping hold of my bag I jumped. By then the yacht was too far out and I hit the water full length, left arm outstretched. As my head went under the water (I felt that I’d totally missed it but was not panicked. I think I was more perturbed by the indignity of landing flat in the water! But it was a weird sensation as the water encompassed my head) my outstretched fingers brushed and then grasped a rope which was tied between the two platforms. I held tight and my head broke the surface as the yacht continued its return journey back across the calm water. I still had hold of my bag! The man standing at the back of the yacht had not turned around to help and his posture hadn’t changed. The occupants of the yacht were oblivious to my plight.

At this point I woke up…..

    • Your dream may symbolize a recent enjoyable experience contrasted with unexpected challenges. Sailing on a yacht across calm water reflects a pleasant time. The race and yacht collision suggest encountering abrupt obstacles.

The man’s indifference may signify feeling unsupported. Jumping into the water signifies adapting to challenges and finding inner resilience, holding onto the rope signifies your determination to overcome difficulties. Overall, the dream may express your ability to handle unforeseen obstacles and maintain your composure despite external indifference or lack of assistance. It reflects your adaptability and inner strength in the face of life’s unexpected twists.
